GF Data’s CEO, Andy Greenberg, Recognized as
Middle Market Thought Leader of the Year

Philadelphia, February 3, 2014 — GF Data®, a leading middle market M&A data provider, today announced that its CEO, Andrew T. Greenberg, received the Middle Market Thought Leader of the Year Award at the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors ® (AM&AA) Winter Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 22.

The award, instituted in 2009 by AM&AA, the leading association and credentialing body for middle market M&A professionals, co-sponsored by Bureau van Dijk and Merrill Data site, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the middle market M&A profession through the publication of works that promote research and higher standards of excellence.

Andy Greenberg co-founded GF Data® with B. Graeme Frazier, IV in 2006.

“Andy is a pioneer in our industry, committed to providing reliable data and analysis on middle market private equity deals — the kind of focused data that just isn’t available to middle market M&A professionals anywhere else,” said Michael Nall, Founder of the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors. “We are pleased to thank Andy and recognize GF Data with this award.”

“GF Data grew out of Graeme’s and my experience as deal practitioners and our desire for better, more on-point information on middle market transactions,” Greenberg said. “Through our reports and searchable data base, we continue to try to provide a clear, practical view of valuation, volume, leverage and deal term trends. AM&AA members have been among our closest collaborators in developing and improving our product, so this peer recognition is especially gratifying.”

GF Data uses a proprietary, secure utility to collect and publish completed private transaction information from over 200 PE firms acquiring businesses in the $10-250 million value range. Over 1,000 deal professionals receive GF Data’s quarterly reports and access their data base on valuation, leverage and legal term benchmarks.

In addition to his role at GF Data, Andy is managing director of Fairmount Partners, a private investment bank in the Philadelphia area. Prior to joining Fairmount, Andy ran M&A groups at Brown Brothers Harriman and Commerce Capital Markets. Before his move to investment banking, he was Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Commerce — the youngest in the history of the Commonwealth. Andy has an A.B. from Brown University and a J.D. from Harvard University. He began his career as a corporate lawyer with Drinker Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia.

This year’s Middle Market Thought Leader of the Year Award winners also included Peter Worrell of Bigelow LLC. To date, eight leading professionals have earned the prestigious Middle Market Thought Leader of the Year Award.
